Independence Day Set for Groundbreaking Ceremony
Bandung Adventist Hospital President, Dr. Jay M. Tombokan says, "technically the ground-breaking will signal the start of the physical construction of the facility." So far onsite preparations has been made both by the hospital and by the developers. According to Mr. Thomas Trisno, acting as chair of the groundbreaking program committee, "more than 50 VIP guest will be present to join more than 300 employees to witness the historic groundbreaking ceremony." The actual 'groundbreaking will take place on the sacred hour, 10:10 AM, known as 'detik-detik proklamasi kemerdekaan'--the hour when the Independence text was read. Its historic significance is the primary consideration why that particular moment has been chosen. "We assure the public that we are working closely with all parties involved in this project so that all hospital services will function normally during the entire construction period," said Dr. Tombokan. "This includes emergency services, Outpatient and other services." Stakes are high on a project this scale, yet this is a major step that has to be taken to provide better healthcare services to the growing demands of the community.
